Rooibos - also called red tea Rooibos tea is the popular national drink in South Africa. Rooibos tea contains no caffeine or tannic acid. The Rooibos tea is aromatic and rich in vitamin C, as well as iron and potassium. The Rooibos tea flavor is sweet and slightly spicy, making it suitable both as pure rooibos and as flavored rooibos with flavor added. The Rooibos plant has green leaves, but during the fermentation, where only spring water and the strong African sun are used, the leaves are red. Rooibos actually means 'red bush' Honey Bush Like Rooibos, Honeybush grows in South Africa, but where Rooibos is cultivated, Honeybush grows wild, on the small hillsides of the Long Kloof district of South Africa. The leaves are pale yellow and smell of honey; hence the name. The taste is extremely pleasant. Lightly fresh and sweet.
