This unique coffee has a taste profile completely without comparison.
Coffea Arabica has been growing wild in the forests of Ethiopia for thousands of years. According to legend, coffee was discovered by an Ethiopian goat herder named Kaldi in the 9th century. He learned that his goats became hyperactive from eating berries from the coffee bushes and therefore tried to eat these berries himself. He later met a monk who took some berries with him to his monastery. Here he roasted and brewed the berries. With this drink, he and the other monks at the monastery were able to stay awake during long prayers.
Since that time, coffee has gained worldwide acceptance.
The district around Yirgacheffe is known for exciting high quality coffee with intense aromas.
The Konga cooperative consists of 2400 small farmers who carefully select wild coffee bushes and plant them on their lands.
