More about: Decaffeinated Coffee
At Osterlandsk 1889 Copenhagen we carry a large selection of caffeine free or decaffeinated coffees. Common to all of them is that it is coffee where the caffeine has been removed through a chemical process. Caffeine is removed from the coffee by extraction with a solvent. In our part of the world, extraction with organic solvents such as dichloromethane has been replaced by harmless methods such as "supercritical extraction", so there are no residual organic solvents in decaffeinated coffee. The aim is that caffeine-free coffee also contains the same flavoring and flavors as regular coffee, including the beneficial antioxidants.
